Futurism Exhibit Planned in Taiwan

Taiwan is planning an exhibition to mark the 100th anniversary of Futurism.

Futurism was an art movement that originated in Italy in the early 20th century. The Futurists admired speed, technology, youth, the automobile, and the industrial city. All of those elements represented the technological triumph of humanity over nature.

The Taipei exhibition is scheduled to open in July at the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall. It will feature 145 Futurist works from Italy. The works will include paintings, sculptures, textiles, and visual poetry.
